ISO 45001 is an International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management. The Standard follows the same high-level structure as other ISO standards (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001). The release marks a long-awaited incorporation into the ISO framework. ISO 45001:2018 has replaced OHSAS 18001:2007.
The Standard places an emphasis on risk management, hazard assessments, commitment to fulfilling compliance obligations and continual improvement. The new standard provides organizations with a basic framework which allows organizations to improve their employee safety practices, reduce workplace health & safety risks and create better, safer working conditions for all employees.
Adopting a Health & Safety Management System into your organization can directly contribute to:
• a reduction in employee injuries
• reduced Reportable Incidents
• lower Worker Compensation claims
• reduced lost time.
